About Us
A few thoughts from Sandy Griffis, YCCA Executive Director
Our Board is pleased to offer you the 2011 edition of Building Yavapai. We’ve endeavored to provide the community with this valuable and informative resource, in addition to giving our members an opportunity to showcase their businesses within this publication. We hope you will enjoy and refer to it often!
In producing our 2011 edition at a time in which our economy has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride, it set me to pondering the question:
What’s next for us?
We live in cities and towns throughout a nation and in a wider world where changes always happen - changes we’ll continue to see happening as long as there’s life on this planet! What a ride it’s been so far: We’ve seen men walk on the moon - and women, too, launched into space; we’ve grown to love organic produce and embrace green building technologies; we’re watching electric and hybrid cars become commonplace. Television has gone fully digital, “Twittering” has become a real word in the English language, and iPads are turning a new page in the story of mobile computing. Just imagine what might be next on the horizon...
Even though times have been tougher for all of us lately, I remain optimistic about tomorrow, next week, next year and all the years beyond.
I especially love the promise of YCCA - where we have been, how we have changed, and where tomorrow may lead us. Yes, we have had setbacks, but we’ve also have had opportunities. Throughout our 50 years as an organization, we’ve remained rock-solid in our representation of our membership and in helping ensure protections and support for our contractors and the citizens and communities we all serve.
YCCA is dedicated to furthering best practices in the ever-changing construction industry.
We work diligently to strengthen the dialogue among our members, our communities and our government because we know that clear communication and cooperative efforts can make great changes happen.
We’re honored to continue playing a key role in promoting a better, safer, more reliable industry for the citizens here, the people who rely heavily on our local professionals to build and shape the wonderful communities of Yavapai County.
Our membership is comprised of people who possess both community pride and generous spirits. The strength of YCCA has proven to be one of our area’s greatest assets. Our willingness to embrace and encourage positive change - and to give to our neighbors in so many ways - is something that helps bolster our communities, regardless of any challenges we may face in the years to come.
I am so very proud to represent the YCCA! And in working closely with our Board of Directors, I look forward to helping our membership grow and change as we work together to accomplish common goals.
All of us at the YCCA know that our work extends far beyond the world of contracting - for us, the ultimate goal is to touch and enhance the lives of all those who share our good fortune in calling Yavapai County “home.”
