WATER IMPACT AND WATER RESOURCE FEES
Last week our office received a letter from the City of Prescott indicating a change in policy regarding plan submittals in relation to the implementation of the May 8, 2006 Water Resource and Water System Impact Fees. The City of Prescott has now indicated that March 29, 2006 is the cutoff date for submission of plans in order to pay under the older impact fee schedule. We believe that the City of Prescott is in error and has essentially moved up the effective date by approximately 6 weeks. We strongly suggest that you call the City of Prescott at 777-1100 to speak with your City Council members and the City Manager and ask them to reconsider the matter.

MARCH
1, 2004 - NEW LEVEL OF COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE CITY OF PRESCOTT
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
Recently
the YCCA meet with 15 plus "A" general contractors so they could
express their concerns regarding with what they felt were some
arbitrary decisions regarding plan revisions and inspections from
The City of Prescott Public Works Department. The YCCA Board of
Directors felt that these concerns required immediate action and
subsequently set up a meeting with City Manager, Steve Norwood;
City Councilman, Steve Blair; Director of Public Works, Craig
V. McConnell; and Director of Community Development, Tom Guice.
YCCA President, Grady Hopson and YCCA Executive Director Ethan
J. Edwards, were present to represent contractors' interests.
While there were many individual issues addressed, (C900 vs. DIP
and Model Home Construction to name two), larger issues of "Due
Process", "Mutual Understandings", "Better Communications", and
"Less Arbitrary Decisions" were discussed.
As
a result of this meeting Director of Public Works, Craig McConnell
issued a letter addressing C900 vs. DIP and Model Home Construction.
The YCCA is in full support and agreement with the direction and
decisions that are stated in the letter. The YCCA believes that
as a result of this meeting, and subsequent letter, that we have
opened new lines of communication with City of Prescott Officials
. To view this letter please Click on the following Link: Craig
